This Tradisyong Filipina is reminiscent of the Mackie bride in its complexity and detail. It is made of an off-white voile type material with a scoop neck surrounded by dozens of long white beads. The sleeves go to the elbow and are large and embroidered, as well as covered with beads, round and seed pearls and again the 3 rows of long white beads at the bottom. The skirt of the gown is a wonder to behold. It is full, with a scalloped hem, completely covered with complex embroidery, and stitched with flowers and other designs in hundreds of tiny round pearls, seed pearls, iridescent sequins, long white and clear beads. The scalloped-edged veil is full length with a headdress of tiny pearls and iridescent sequins on the veil. Barbie has a pearl choker with gold clasp and tiny white button earrings. Barbie carries a mixed bouquet of flowers and comes with while heels and a stand. She has dark hair which drawn at the back. Loved Barbie ever since I was a kid. But ever since I was a kid, I longed for a doll that I could identify with. When I discovered that there were Filipino Barbies out there, I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, my family couldn't afford anything like that as Filipina Barbies were either only available as LEs or in the Philippines for a restricted timeframe (like for one year in 1998). And pretty much, when I contacted Mattel if they were ever going to have Filipina Barbies in the mass market or in the Barbies of the World collection, they pretty much told me in the kindest way possible to just find the LE Filipina Barbies directed toward the Filipino market as they had no intention of making new ones as of early 2000. 0_0' Flash forward years later...I received this as a gift from my in-laws. Omigawd...Box and doll in mint condition. Box never opened, and the Barbie did not show the telltale signs of being exposed to sunlight (no droopy "eyes", etc). The only thing showing the age of the doll was that the wedding dress was starting to antique, but that happens to any white cloth of that material that isn't vacuumed sealed and whatnot. Overall, condition was far above what I expected considering I was getting it second hand. Although the doll was pricey, compared to how much it cost back in 2000 on the second hand market, it is about the same, maybe a little higher. And again, I've searched for various Filipina dolls since the 80s, so I know. >_< Am grateful for the condition of the doll, how well the packaging was (minimizing damaging the box the doll was in), and the timeliness of the package arriving. Would totally recommend purchasing from this seller if her other items are as excellent (and in mint condition) as this one. Thank you for fulfilling a life long dream. *HUGS* ~Lia
